Doron Rubin – Chairman of Marom Olami

Doron-RubinChairman of Marom Olami from 2004 to the present, Doron holds a BA in Business Administration and in Jewish Philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a teaching certificate in Jewish Philosophy also from Hebrew University.

Since 2007, Doron Rubin has been serving as the Hillel Shaliach and Student Representative in North America. Prior to this position, he was Director of the Ellin Mitchell Hillel Program at Tel Aviv University. From 1999-2002, Doron was the community and Masorti Shaliach (emissary) in the United Kingdom.
A native of Haifa, Doron grew up in the Israel Masorti Movement and has held key positions including the Coordinator of NOAM Branches, NOAM Nahal (army) group advisor and Director of “Solelim”, the Masorti student organization (today called “Marom”). He has also worked in a variety of positions in Jewish education with youth and young adults including Director of Programming in the Neve Hanna Children’s Home in Kiryat Gat, teacher of Jewish Thought and Philosophy in a Jerusalem high school and a counselor in the “Beit Ha’galgalim” center for handicapped children.
Doron is married to Rabbi Judit Rubin and is the father of three girls, Shachar, Shai-ya and Ma’ayan. When not on shlichut, he and his family reside in Jerusalem.
